Honestly, this moment from my conversation with Dr Philippa Hardman changed how I think about what we're building. She talked about how the real shift with AI isn't just making content faster. It's that for the first time, organizations can treat learning as a living system, not a collection of static assets you build once and forget. Because that's exactly the problem we kept hearing from training teams. They'd spend months building a course, and by the time it launched, half of it was already outdated. The issue was never "we need more content." It was "we need content that keeps up." That insight shaped so much of what became Colossyan Learn. We built it so teams can turn knowledge into structured, video-led training and actually maintain it over time. Update it, version it, scale it as the organization changes. Philippa put into words what we've been building toward for the past year. Grateful for this conversation, and excited about what comes next. Full clip below. Link to try Colossyan Learn in the comments. I'm curious: for teams out there, how much of your current training content is already outdated?

The shift from "AI as content machine" to "AI as practice engine" is a shift that only the most advanced L&D teams have made -- here's how to do it. Most L&D folks are still using AI to create content. But what if instead of asking "how can I work with AI to transmit information?" we ask, "how can I work with AI to develop my learners' skills & behaviours?". In my latest blog post, I break down four ways to turn AI into a practice engine — each with a copy‑and‑paste prompt you can drop into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini to get a working, ready to test prototype in minutes... _______________ → Structured Roleplay — learners practise high-stakes conversations with an AI character who pushes back. They then get immediate, actionable feedback on how they handled it, which builds competence and confidence (Ericsson, 1993; Bele et al., 2023). → Decision Simulator — learners make a sequence of decisions with cumulative, realistic consequences then reflect on their reasoning. This approach builds the kind of transfer that case studies alone can’t (van Merriënboer & Kirschner, 2017). → Feedback Simulator — learners submit a real piece of work and get situated, criteria-based feedback from an AI reviewer with explicit priorities. This strengthens task-specific competency through active reflection and iteration (Nicol & Macfarlane-Dick, 2006; Tai et al., 2018). → Adaptive Case Study — learners interview a biased, challenging character, e.g. to diagnose a problem. This develops inquiry and problem-finding skills by forcing learners to ask better questions and defend their position (Jonassen, 2000). _______________ 🥡 The key takeaway: AI isn’t pedagogically smart by default — but with your input it can become an engine that makes “learning by doing” cheap, repeatable, and scalable in ways we couldn’t deliver before. Read the full breakdown and try examples of each of these for yourself (link in comments) 👇 Happy innovating! Phil 👋 | 20 comments on LinkedIn

Just out: the second edition of McKinsey's State of Organizations report, after the first in 2023. The first three of the nine themes are focused squarely on AI, with the others all shaped by the emerging Humans + AI landscape.
The themes in summary: ⭐ Unlocking the AI-enabled organization Although 88% of organizations are experimenting with AI, 81% report no meaningful bottom-line gains. To capture real value, leaders must push for a double transformation that reimagines workflows across the entire enterprise rather than relying on fragmented use cases. Executives should prioritize building flexible technology platforms and an “AI mesh” to scale agentic systems securely. They must empower their workforce by actively managing job replacement fears and embedding clear ethical guidelines to foster deep organizational trust. ⭐ Humans and AI agents: Building a new world of collaboration As workplaces transition to an AI-hybrid model, roughly 75% of current roles will require reshaping to blend technological fluency with higher cognitive skills. Despite this massive shift, only 25% of leaders expect AI to act as autonomous teammates in the short term, with most still viewing it merely as a support tool. To unlock the exponential productivity gains anticipated by 55% of executives, organizations must redesign workflows from the ground up around human-agent collaboration. Leaders need to establish robust sensing mechanisms to track adoption progress and establish a culture of continuous learning and experimentation. ⭐ Leveraging AI to rewrite the future of shared services Traditional shared-services centers are rapidly evolving, with 84% of organizations planning to expand their operational scope over the next two years. However, just 6% of business service leaders are currently realizing the full benefits of advanced technologies across multiple use cases. Companies must pivot toward AI-native global business services models that are based on orchestration of end-to-end automation, rather than relocation.

I told you 2026 will be the year of "I told you so." Here is more about the so-called "benefits" of "AI": "One of the promises of AI is that it can reduce workloads so employees can focus more on higher-value and more engaging tasks. But according to new research, AI tools don’t reduce work, they consistently intensify it: In the study, employees worked at a faster pace, took on a broader scope of tasks, and extended work into more hours of the day, often without being asked to do so. That may sound like a win, but it’s not quite so simple. These changes can be unsustainable, leading to workload creep, cognitive fatigue, burnout, and weakened decision-making. The productivity surge enjoyed at the beginning can give way to lower quality work, turnover, and other problems." I know, I know some will still answer with "But, but, but..." until the end of time... Because for some, it is easier to find a new excuse than to acknowledge the huge pile of limitations, pushback against, and impossibilities of "AI." Very probably because of their not understanding it or how it actually works in the first place. Or because of their inability to give up on BS. Or both. 🤷‍♀️ https://lnkd.in/dsviF-s8 | 58 comments on LinkedIn

But this isn’t the first time technology has done this. When the Internet or computers emerged, they redefined work. Nearly 70% of today’s jobs didn’t exist 100 years ago. Innovation doesn’t replace, but it just reinvents. According to this Gartner study: "67% of mature organizations are creating new roles for generative AI, and 87% already have a dedicated AI team."
